Release the Fire Within
Share
The embers smolder, never truly extinguished.
Many believe that the fire is gone; that life has been snuffed out. To many, the drone of each day can suck any remaining bit of hope out of the air. The down trodden, mindless ways can squeeze every ounce of promise, draining your soul of optimism.
Unbeknownst to your conscious, a process begins. A flare in the night stirs vivid dreams of what once was – a plea to be once again. At first nothing is remembered but you awake with an ache of missing – an ache realizing only the lack of fulfillment. And as the days progress the emptiness grows as your subconscious is awakened.
The path – which is yet to be revealed – is filled with tangents and distractions to blindly fill the void. Yet, if you can’t identify the source, you will never understand the remedy. So with each addiction you cram into the void, it slips easily through and creates a larger chasm.
Until slowly – your conscious awakes.
The same wind that can bring a chill can nurture that small, untainted ember which your subconscious has been nurturing – bringing back the glow. A light that breaks the darkness, a crack that expands letting more heat escape as it grows. Bound together by what once was hardened mortar of neglect the nestled kindred coals build on the heat. Together their intensity multiplies.
This flame becomes so ardent. This is not a brightness that makes you shield your eyes but one that opens your soul – gathering more light into its fold. It is ever intensifying, ever growing; sparking ember after ember until it radiates continually, ablaze and self-sustaining. Because this ember which has sparked –one once thought lost and without life – will never be extinguished again.
And when the next wind comes it loosens a spark and guides it on the wind- leading it until it lands silently in another place that had grown cold. Falling ever so gently into the crevice between the coals – starting again an ember which smolders. And another dream awakens – another subconscious tingles with the memory of what can now be reborn.
